dorsy E. Balossa

Dorsy E. Balossa, author of A Black Women's Guide To Self Intimacy & Self Awareness is a friend, and self-empowerment / self-awareness enthusiast born in Dakar, Senegal.

She completed her bachelor’s degree in Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Iowa. She is currently working towards her Master’s in Social Work. She plans on getting licensed and practicing private therapy to further educate, elevate, and empower black women. She is looking forward to adding more awareness and compassion to the world. She advises that you take what resonates and leave what doesn’t from her informative book!

I loved this self intimacy guide and how she discusses attachment styles here. I found myself hooked in the first page, crying through the middle of the book, and just feeling a sense of self awareness and fullness towards the end. A must read for anyone and what I loved most is I read it all during a bath. Easy read, but every page hits.

Andrea Lopez (she/her) is a Guatemalan artist born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She started her art from a very young age as a way to express the creative ideas and visions that she constantly accumulates.

Her art resides within the divine darkness and turning unusual jaw dropping themes to something physical to share with others. Her work has impacted the community by sharing a unique presence into the mind by bringing out our deepest darkest secrets and highlighting feminine passion.

Andrea stood out to De La Derma because of the intense emotion you feel in the presence of her art. We were lucky enough to have a mural done by this wonderful artist in our space that will be forever cherished. (See video below) Thank you, Andrea for giving us a different reality to get lost in when we gaze upon your art.

Prints, merch and accessories available in the shop. Check out her website for custom commissions.
