Mikaela Giselle is a Southern California native who has found homes along the coast, and as a Black American Trans-identified woman, has found relative safety in the loving Bay Area communities within the past 10 years.

Mikaela Giselle has a background in Political Science from the University of California Santa Barbara, and a background in Fashion Merchandising collectively from the Academy of Art University and City College of San Francisco. She finds her passions within the arts and loves when art has intention that is meant to evoke inspiration and an array of emotion within the receiving audience. As such, Mikaela also finds that her passions for making hand-crafted candles are intentional and meant to evoke uplifting, restorative, and relaxing stated of being for every nostril her fragrances may grace.

“I named my product BlackGirlSunscreen because there are a lot of people who still think having dark skin means that you have full sun protection. While we do have more natural protection than people with lighter skin tones, we’re still at risk for burns, cosmetic sun damage and—most importantly—skin cancer,” -Shontay Lundy, founder of Black Girl Sunscreen

Kay Cola, CEO behind OrganiGrowHairCo is the boss behind TheOrganiBrands. Kay is truly a boss of all forms. She’s a mother, author, grammy nominated songwriter and entrepreneur just to name a few. She started this wonderful line after a haircut gone wrong and losing volume, strength and length in her hair.

“I decided to couple my love for people and my obsession with healthy hair and create a VEGAN, ORGANIC all natural line that caters to ALL ages and hair types. We are all created equal, but our hair is not. Therefore, I created each oil specifically for each hair porosity.”

NOLA SKINESSENTIALS

Jane, founder of Nolaskinsentials created an empire with this vegan-friendly, skin-loving brand starting in 2017.

“Being an African American woman, I realized how challenging it was to find a brand that created all plant-based products for skin with melanin. Instead of accepting defeat, I tapped into my Black Girl Magic and said, “Fine! Leah, founder of Brujita Skincare is a badass bruja and esthetician of over 18 years. She formulated Brujita with potent intention behind the formulations that you can feel with each use. Each product is made up of powerful medicinal herbs that translate into the skin by healing from within.

Brujita is an LA based, Latina owned and operated brand that rooted its ingredients from the mercados of Mexico City. All ingredients are sustainable, raw, organic, and unrefined.

Janice, Founder of Kana Skincare created an innovative collection of clean, high-performance skincare products that empowers you to be your best, confident self.

Drawing inspiration from her Korean culture and mother’s homemade sleeping masks, she created a result driven line of products unlike any other on the market.

Kana has been featured in various articles and boutiques across the globe and tributes their success to the women behind the production. Janice is such a unique, inspiring boss babe that dominates her queendom through empowering and uplifting women.

Yanique, founder of Humility From The Earth is a master of health, wellness, fitness and herbs.

She created this impactful brand to motivate the general public about the importance of what we put on, and inside our bodies. Yanique resurrects a wholesome connection with nature by providing organic supplements pulling us away from this reliance on the pharmaceutical industry.

Lisa, founder of SALT SISTER, is a creatress, artist, mother and of course a sister! Her love of luxurious self care by way of baths led her to begin formulating her own epsom salt blends. Each blend is coupled with a specific essential oil to deeply sooth muscles, rejuvenate, and relax. Every offering is created in small batches y con mucho amor to sooth you and revive you!

We are excited to share Lisa’s products with our De La Derma fam because not only does she put magic and intention into each mix, she is also creating life. She carries with her the magic of not only one but two incredible souls being poured into these products. Now that's something special.

Barbara Jacques is the founder and CEO of Jacq’s Skincare.

She started Jacq’s when she had a health scare during her pregnancy. She decided it was time to dive into the clean beauty world, pioneering skincare focusing on real skincare concerns like hyperpigmentation and acne.

As a mother, and a graduate in arts and communication of the University of South Florida, Barbara thrives in an industry where helping women slay naturally is top priority. Jacq’s has now been featured in dozens of magazines, blogs and in 2015 was awarded the Healing Spas & Lifestyle Beauty Award for Best Pregnancy Product. We are honored and excited to bring Jacq’s on board with De La Derma.

Lorraine, founder of Amor Y Flor velas is the creator of a truly nostalgic brand.

She started her line to represent her life as a Latina. The identifiable scents in Latin American culture from her childhood are what fueled the fire in starting Amor Y Flor. Not only is Lorraine the mother of this candle shop, but also a mother in her personal life. An all around feminine boss.
